You missed the Parcelforce driver, a ‘Something for you’ card is on the mat, and the clock is now ticking — parcels are only held for 18 days before they go back to the sender. Here’s how to track your Parcelforce parcel, arrange redelivery in time, and get an alert before it arrives, all in one app.

Track your Parcelforce parcel in one app
Add your Parcelforce reference number once and get a delivery alert so you never miss the driver, across 1,700+ carriers in one place.
How to track your Parcelforce parcel
- Enter your reference number on parcelforce.com/track-trace and select Track.
- No reference number? Parcelforce can’t track by name or address, so check your emails first (see below).
- Or paste the number into Package Tracker, which detects the carrier automatically and sends an out-for-delivery alert.
For the full journey across every carrier, see how to track any package.
Where to find your Parcelforce reference number
If you booked online via parcelforce.com or royalmail.com, the reference number is in your confirmation email and order history. If a shop sent your order, it’s in their dispatch email or on the invoice. The number can contain letters and digits and varies in length — for example AB1234567 (2 letters + 7 digits) or a longer 13, 14 or 16-character code.
What is Parcelforce Worldwide?
Parcelforce Worldwide is the UK express parcel carrier and part of the Royal Mail Group. It handles larger and express parcels across the UK and ships internationally to over 240 countries. Because it’s part of Royal Mail, a parcel can move between the two networks, so it helps to follow both. See our guide to Royal Mail tracking too.
The ‘Something for you’ card and the 18-day clock
If you’re out, the driver leaves a ‘Something for you’ card and the parcel goes to your local Parcelforce depot or Post Office branch. From there you can book a redelivery (via the Royal Mail redelivery tool, using your reference; 48 working hours’ notice) or collect it in person with ID. Important: parcels are held for 18 calendar days before being returned to the sender, so don’t leave it too long. A delivery alert helps you be home for the first attempt.
Parcelforce delivery services and times
Delivery time depends on the service the sender chose. Check your reference for the guaranteed date.
| Service | Typical timeframe |
|---|---|
| express24 | Guaranteed by end of the next working day |
| express48 | Within two working days |
| expressAM | Next working day before midday |
| express9 / express10 | Next working day before 9am or 10am |
| globalexpress / global services | International, plus customs clearance |
Never miss the driver
Package Tracker alerts you when your Parcelforce parcel is out for delivery, so you’re home before the card lands and the 18-day clock starts.
Parcelforce tracking statuses explained
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| We’ve got your parcel | Parcelforce has collected it and it’s in the network. |
| In transit | Moving between depots toward your delivery depot. |
| At your local depot | It reached the depot that covers your address. |
| Out for delivery | On the van for delivery today. |
| We were unable to deliver | Missed delivery; a ‘Something for you’ card was left. |
| Delivered | Handed over, left in a safe place, or collected from the depot. |
Why your Parcelforce tracking is not updating
- Just booked. Before collection, tracking may show little until the first scan.
- Between depots. Parcels aren’t scanned at every step, so a quiet day is normal.
- Weekend or bank holiday. Parcelforce delivers on working days, so tracking pauses.
- Customs (international). Inbound and outbound parcels can sit in customs with no scan for a day or two.
If it’s stuck, see package stuck in transit. For international parcels held at the border, see package stuck in customs. If the number won’t load, here’s the fix: tracking number not working.
