GLS Tracking: Track Your GLS Parcel (US & Europe)

July 14, 2026

Your GLS parcel number won’t load, and you’re not even sure whether it’s GLS in the US, Europe, or Canada. GLS runs separate networks by region, so the trick is tracking the right one — or letting one app do it for you. Here’s how to track your GLS parcel, read the statuses, and get a delivery alert.

Receiving a GLS parcel delivery in the US

Track your GLS parcel in one app

Add your GLS parcel number once and follow it across regions and 1,700+ carriers, all in one place.

How to track your GLS parcel

  1. Enter your 14-digit parcel number (some are 11 digits) or the Track ID from your notification card on the GLS tracker at gls-group.com.
  2. Make sure you’re on the right regional GLS site, or use the MyGLS app where available.
  3. Or paste the number into Package Tracker, which detects the carrier automatically and follows GLS across regions.

For the full journey across every carrier, see how to track any package.

GLS in the US, Europe and Canada: which one is yours?

GLS (General Logistics Systems) is one of Europe’s biggest parcel networks, with separate operations by region — which is why the wrong regional tracker can say it can’t find your parcel:

  • GLS US — formerly GSO (Golden State Overnight), delivering across eight western and southwestern US states.
  • GLS Europe — covers 41 European countries, including the UK, Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
  • GLS Canada — parcel delivery within Canada.

A universal tracker follows your GLS parcel whichever network it’s on, so you don’t have to guess the right country site.

Where to find your GLS parcel number

Your GLS parcel number is on the shipping label and in the sender’s confirmation email. It’s usually 14 digits (sometimes 11). If you missed a delivery, the notification card also has a Track ID you can use.

GLS delivery times

GLS delivers Monday to Friday during business hours. Times depend on the route:

Route Typical timeframe
Domestic (most countries) Often less than 24 hours
Within Europe About 24 to 96 hours depending on distance
GLS US (regional) Next business day within its service states
Islands / remote areas Longer than standard

Never miss a GLS delivery

Package Tracker alerts you when your GLS parcel is out for delivery, so you can use FlexDelivery or be home in time.

FlexDelivery and ParcelShops

In many regions GLS offers FlexDeliveryService: from the email notification you can pick a new delivery date, change the address, or redirect the parcel to a GLS ParcelShop to collect at your convenience. If you’re out and there’s no safe option, GLS leaves a notification card, and in some countries a neighbour may accept the parcel.

GLS tracking statuses explained

Status What it means
Parcel data entered The label is created but GLS hasn’t scanned the parcel yet.
In transit Moving through the GLS network between depots.
In delivery Out for delivery today on the local route.
Notification card left No one available; check FlexDelivery to reschedule or redirect.
At ParcelShop Waiting for you to collect at a GLS ParcelShop.
Delivered Handed over, left per instructions, or collected.

Why your GLS tracking is not updating

  • Wrong regional site. A US number won’t load on a European GLS site, and vice versa.
  • Just created. The number can take a while to show its first scan after the label is made.
  • Between scans. Updates come at transport points, so short quiet gaps are normal.
  • Weekend. GLS delivers Monday to Friday, so tracking pauses over the weekend.

If it’s stuck, see package stuck in transit. For cross-border parcels held at the border, see package stuck in customs. If the number won’t load, here’s the fix: tracking number not working.

GLS customer service

GLS support is country-specific — contact the GLS national company for your region (for example GLS-US.com in the United States or your local GLS site in Europe) through the contact section of gls-group.com. Have your parcel number or Track ID ready.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track my GLS parcel?

Enter your 14-digit parcel number (or 11-digit, or the Track ID from a notification card) on the GLS tracker at gls-group.com, or paste it into Package Tracker, which detects the carrier automatically and follows GLS across regions.

What does a GLS tracking number look like?

It’s usually a 14-digit parcel number, sometimes 11 digits. You’ll find it on the shipping label and in the sender’s confirmation email, or as a Track ID on a notification card.

Is GLS US the same as GLS Europe?

They’re part of the same GLS group but run as separate regional networks. GLS US (formerly GSO) covers eight western and southwestern US states, while GLS Europe covers 41 countries. Track on the right region, or use one app that follows both.

What is GLS US (formerly GSO)?

GLS US is GLS’s American operation, previously known as GSO (Golden State Overnight). It offers next-business-day regional delivery across several western and southwestern states.

How long does GLS take to deliver?

Domestic parcels often arrive in under 24 hours, European routes take about 24 to 96 hours depending on distance, and GLS US delivers next business day within its service states. GLS delivers Monday to Friday.

Why is my GLS tracking not updating?

The most common reason is using the wrong regional GLS site. Others are a freshly created label, normal gaps between scans, or a weekend, since GLS delivers on business days.

What is GLS FlexDeliveryService?

FlexDelivery lets you respond to the GLS email notification to choose a new delivery date, change the address, or redirect the parcel to a GLS ParcelShop for collection.

What is a GLS ParcelShop?

A ParcelShop is a local GLS collection point with extended hours. You can have a parcel delivered there or redirect it there with FlexDelivery, then collect when it suits you.

GLS leaves a notification card, and in some countries a neighbour may accept the parcel. Use FlexDelivery or the Track ID on the card to reschedule, redirect to a ParcelShop, or arrange collection.

Does GLS deliver on weekends?

GLS generally delivers Monday to Friday during business hours, so tracking usually pauses over the weekend.

How do I contact GLS customer service?

GLS support is country-specific. Contact the GLS national company for your region through gls-group.com, with your parcel number or Track ID ready.
