Depop tracking should be simple, but the seller marked your order shipped and there’s still no tracking number anywhere. Days pass, the app shows nothing, and you’re wondering whether the parcel is real or whether you’ve been had. Here’s how to find your tracking, tell whether the item actually left, work out who’s delivering it, and claim your money back if it never turns up.
Where to find your Depop tracking number
Open the Depop app, tap your profile icon, go to Purchases, and select the order. The receipt shows the current status and, if the seller has added one, a tracking number you can tap to follow. On desktop, the same details live under your account’s purchase history. Two things decide whether a number is even there yet: how the seller shipped, and whether the parcel has had its first carrier scan. If you can’t see a number anywhere and the order has genuinely been paid, the track a package without a tracking number playbook gives you options while you wait.
Seller hasn’t added tracking? How to tell if it actually shipped
A “shipped” badge on Depop doesn’t always mean a parcel is moving. It means the seller pressed a button. What happens next depends entirely on which of Depop’s two shipping methods they used, so start there before you assume the worst.
If they used Depop Shipping, tracking is automatic
With Depop Shipping — USPS in the US, Evri in the UK — Depop generates the prepaid label, so the tracking number attaches to your order the moment that label is created and it updates on its own. The seller never types anything in. If you can see a number but no movement, the label has been bought but the parcel likely hasn’t been dropped off or scanned yet. Give it a day or two after dispatch for the first Accepted or Collected scan to appear.
If they arranged their own shipping, tracking is manual
When a seller picks “arrange your own shipping,” they buy their own postage and have to paste the tracking number into the order by hand. This is where most “no tracking” cases come from: the item is genuinely in the post, but the seller forgot that extra step. Message them in the Depop thread and ask for the carrier and the number. A real seller replies with both. Silence, vague answers, or a request to sort it “off the app” is a warning sign, not a delay.
Here’s the timeline a normal Depop order follows, so you know when quiet is fine and when it’s actually late:
| Stage | Typical timing | What you’ll see | If it’s late |
|---|---|---|---|
| Order placed | Day 0 | Paid / order confirmation | — |
| Seller dispatches | Within about 5 days | Tracking number appears (if a tracked service was used) | Wait up to 5 days, then message the seller |
| First carrier scan | 1–2 days after dispatch | Accepted / Collected | No scan after a few days means it may not have shipped |
| In transit | US: 2–4 business days · UK: 2–3 days | Movement scans between hubs | No update for days? treat as stuck, not lost, at first |
| Delivered | End of the window | Delivered, sometimes with a photo | Not received? report it within 30 days of purchase |
Who actually delivers your Depop parcel
The label says Depop, but a real carrier moves the box. Which one depends on your country and the seller’s method.
| Region | Method | Carrier | Where to track |
|---|---|---|---|
| US | Depop Shipping (default) | USPS | Purchases tab / USPS |
| US | Arrange your own | USPS, UPS or others | The number the seller enters |
| UK | Depop Shipping (default) | Evri | Purchases tab / Evri |
| UK | Arrange your own | Royal Mail, Yodel, Evri or InPost | The number the seller enters |
In the UK, Depop Shipping runs on Evri, so most in-app labels are Evri parcels dropped at a ParcelShop. Sellers who buy their own postage often use Royal Mail or Yodel instead, and you’ll follow those on the carrier’s own site using the number the seller pastes in. In the US, Depop Shipping is USPS end to end and fully tracked, so a Depop-labelled parcel there is always a USPS parcel.
Not sure who has your parcel? The number itself gives it away. Match it against this decoder:
| Looks like | Length | Carrier | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starts 9400, 9205, 9407 or 9303, all digits | 22 digits | USPS (US) | Depop’s default US carrier |
| Two letters, nine digits, ends US (e.g. EA…US) | 13 characters | USPS Priority Express / international | UPU S10 format |
| All digits, or a letter followed by digits | 16 characters | Evri (UK) | Depop’s default UK carrier |
| Two letters, nine digits, ends GB (e.g. AB…GB) | 13 characters | Royal Mail (UK) | Tracked or Signed, S10 format |
| Starts JD | 16 digits | Yodel (UK) | Usually an arrange-your-own parcel |
Depop Payments labels vs arranging your own shipping
Both methods are covered by buyer protection as long as you paid inside Depop. The practical difference is where the tracking comes from and what tends to go wrong with each.
| Depop Shipping (prepaid label) | Arrange your own | |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier | US: USPS · UK: Evri | The seller’s choice |
| Tracking | Added automatically | Seller types it in manually |
| Most common problem | Label bought but parcel not dropped off yet | Seller forgets to add the number |
| Buyer protection | Covered | Covered (if you paid in-app) |
| Your move if there’s no tracking | Wait for the first scan | Message the seller for the number |
Buyer protection and the 30-day refund window
If your parcel never arrives, turns up broken, or is significantly not as described, Depop Protection can refund the full amount — item price, shipping and fees — as long as you paid in the app with Depop Payments and you report it within 30 days of the purchase date. Pay any other way and you’re outside the system with nothing to claim. Depop Protection isn’t insurance or a guarantee, and Depop decides each case, but a clean in-app purchase is the strongest position you can be in.
To open a case, go to the order in Purchases, tap the help or resolution option, and describe the problem. Give the seller a chance to respond first — Depop expects buyers to wait roughly five days after purchase before escalating a missing item, which is enough time for a slow dispatch. If tracking shows the parcel as delivered but you never got it, say that plainly: a delivery scan to the wrong address is exactly the kind of dispute buyer protection exists for.
Tracking blank or stuck? Do this before you panic
A number that won’t load usually isn’t a scam — it’s a scan gap. Freshly created labels take a few hours to register on the carrier’s system, so if the site rejects the number, wait and try again, then work through the tracking number not working fixes. If the number registered but has sat still for days, that’s a parcel stuck at a sorting hub, not a lost one — give USPS or Evri a couple of extra days before you treat it as missing. Only escalate to Depop once the timeline above and the carrier’s own estimate have both passed.
Is it a scam? A 60-second check
Most Depop problems are slow sellers, not thieves — but scams do exist, and they nearly always involve leaving Depop’s protected checkout. Run this quick check before you worry, and before you pay:
| Green flag | Red flag |
|---|---|
| Paid in-app with Depop Payments | Asked to pay by bank transfer, PayPal friends and family, Venmo, Cash App, gift card or crypto |
| Seller has reviews and a sales history | Brand-new account, no reviews, empty bio |
| Tracking updates with real scans | A number that never scans, or shows the wrong destination |
| Chat stays inside Depop | Pushed to WhatsApp, DM or email off the app |
| Price is realistic for the item | Too-good-to-be-true price on a hyped or luxury piece |
The one rule that keeps you safe: pay and message inside the app. The moment someone asks you to move to bank transfer or a friends-and-family payment, you lose every protection Depop offers. A “tracking number” sent to you over WhatsApp that never produces a real scan is one of the oldest fakes in the book.
One app for Depop, Vinted, Poshmark and the rest
If you buy secondhand across a few marketplaces, tracking numbers scatter across message threads, emails and carrier sites. Paste any Depop number into a tracker that auto-detects the carrier and you skip the guesswork entirely — the same trick works for a Vinted parcel or a Poshmark order, whatever carrier is behind it. One list, a push alert at each scan, and no more digging through DMs to find out where your order is.

Frequently asked questions
Selling or buying on TikTok Shop instead? TikTok Shop order tracking works differently — the app hands each parcel to a different courier.
Open the Depop app, tap your profile, go to Purchases and select the order. If the seller added a tracking number, it appears on the receipt and you can tap it to follow the parcel on the carrier’s site.
Usually because the seller arranged their own shipping and forgot to enter the number, or because a Depop Shipping label was created but hasn’t been scanned yet. Message the seller and ask for the carrier and tracking number if a few days have passed.
Sellers are expected to dispatch within about five days of the sale. If nothing has shipped after that, you can message them and then contact Depop, and you may be able to request a refund if the item still hasn’t moved.
Once shipped, US orders on USPS typically arrive in two to four business days and UK Evri orders in two to three days. Arrange-your-own parcels depend on the service the seller chose.
A stalled number is usually a scan gap at a sorting hub rather than a lost parcel. Wait a couple of extra days, then check the carrier’s own estimate before reporting the item as missing to Depop.
If you paid in the app with Depop Payments and report the problem within 30 days of purchase, Depop Protection can refund the full amount, including shipping and fees. Depop reviews each case and decides the outcome.
Yes. If the seller misses the dispatch window and the item hasn’t been sent, you can raise it with Depop through the order and request a refund, as long as you paid inside the app.
Depop Shipping in the UK runs on Evri, with parcels dropped at a ParcelShop. Sellers who buy their own postage often use Royal Mail or Yodel instead, so check which carrier the tracking number belongs to.
Only if the seller manually pastes the tracking number into the order. Depop won’t auto-fill it for arrange-your-own postage, so ask the seller for the number if none is showing.
It is safe when you pay and chat inside the app, which keeps you covered by Depop Protection. Risk appears when a seller pushes you to pay off-platform by bank transfer, gift card or a friends-and-family payment.
